I collaborated with the talented designer, Tiarra Mallard. We had a vision of beauty run through our minds as we thought of Elle. Tiarra and I knew immediately that Elle's skin tone and feminine figure would pop in swimsuits with vibrant colors. Secret Beach added that extra layer of beauty to create depth. As a result, handpicking every element of this shoot to make Elle the focal point is how we made it official

Working with Jenn, a talented makeup artist, this shot was the perfect balance of how makeup enhances a natural look so I could focus on Dede's radient glow

BTS (Behind The Scenes)
There's nothing like having crazy talented contractors to work with. I love to catch the BTS magic that transforms a model's energy when they step in front of the camera. I was fortunate Jenn stayed during the session to provide any touch ups I needed so I could keep my focus on getting the shot just right. Collaboration was how we made it official
Picture Perfect
It's always on point to have an extra set of eyes catching the little things that can reduce the time in post edit. On this shoot, I had an awesome crew to touch up makeup or ensure every lock of hair was in place
Connection
I'm always encouraging models to connect with the camera, to think of an experience that will invoke a true feeling. In the end, my goal is to have the viewer connect with the image as well

It was fun shooting Sam because she knew how to emote. I'm always looking for those facial expressions that show natural emotions
Make It Official
This shoot was all about the story. In Hawaii, all you want to do is get to the beach at any lengths. So I collaborated with Tiara for swimsuit design, Jenn for makeup, and a crew of assistants to make this shoot fire. We found this lonely road to set the mood of free spirited friends trying to find their way to the beach. Although the gorgeous models, Sam, Elle, & Vanessa met for the first time on set, we challenged them to portray a long standing friendship and they delivered when I picked up my camera. Working with fun passionate people is how we made it official
In Your Element
Terry is a body builder that needed to be shot in his element where he felt at home. I had to maneuver my lights in tight spaces between equipment, and it was worth it to get the perfect shots

I capture A LOT of images during a shoot so there is a good selection to choose from. I love to discuss with a client what we see in a perfect image so we both walk away feeling confident about the final product

This shoot was real cool. I got to see the heart of Terry in what drives him to work hard and what fuels his determination. Getting to know him in his world, informed me on how to capture his personality, the power and grit he exudes. Having Jody, his trainer, there helped with both guidance and a relaxed feel. We worked hard, we laughed, and in the end we made it official
